Facts About Us



The Guyana Forum for Youth in Agriculture (GFYA) is a member of the Caribbean Forum for Youth and Agriculture (CAFY). It was formally launched in May 2004.


Since its establishment, the GFYA has been involved in the empowerment of youth in agriculture, working closely with the Inter American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture, local agencies in the agricultural sector and regional bodies such as the Caribbean Agricultural Forum for Youth.


Members of the forum have benefited from programmes and activities which contributed to the realization of the objectives of the forum over the past years.

The vision of the Guyana Forum for Youth in Agriculture is to build and maintain an interest in agriculture, to present agriculture for what it truly is A KEY TO MANKIND'S SURVIVAL . Our goal is to empower and encourage greater youth participation in Agriculture.

Persons do not need to own a farm to be involved in agricultural activities.

How to Join Us

(Criteria)

Membership of the Forum is opened to all stakeholders in agriculture under the age of thirty five (35). This includes students in agriculture and related studies, non-governmental organizations and other agricultural youth stakeholders in Guyana.
